--- Job Description: Music Teacher - Cycle 1 As a Music Teacher at ICS Al Mushrif, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering engaging music instruction to students in Cycle 1 (Kindergarten to Grade 2)
You will cultivate a positive and creative learning environment that encourages exploration, appreciation, and performance of music, ensuring alignment with the American curriculum framework

Qualifications & Certifications: Bachelor's Degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or a closely related field from an accredited institution
Valid, current teaching license or certification from a US state or other recognized international licensing body
Master's Degree in Music Education or a related field is highly desirable
Specialized certifications in music pedagogy (e.g., Orff-Schulwerk, Kodaly, Dalcroze) are a significant advantage

Experience Requirements: Minimum of 2-3 years of full-time teaching experience as a Music Teacher, specifically with early elementary students (Kindergarten to Grade 2)
Demonstrable experience teaching the American curriculum standards for Music Education
Previous experience in an international school setting is preferred
Proven ability to design and implement age-appropriate and engaging music programs for young learners

Skills Required: Technical & Pedagogical Skills: Proficiency in teaching a variety of musical instruments suitable for early elementary grades (e.g., recorder, ukulele, percussion, keyboard fundamentals)
Strong vocal skills and ability to lead group singing
Ability to integrate music technology and digital resources into lessons effectively
Excellent classroom management techniques tailored for Cycle 1 students
Skilled in differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs and styles
Strong curriculum planning, assessment, and reporting skills
Interpersonal & Soft Skills: Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities, fostering positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
Enthusiastic, creative, and patient approach to teaching young children
Adaptability, resilience, and a proactive attitude towards professional development
Cultural sensitivity and the ability to thrive in a diverse international school community

Curriculum Knowledge: Thorough understanding and proven expertise in delivering the American curriculum for Music Education, specifically aligning with US National Core Arts Standards or equivalent US state music standards for Cycle 1
Ability to develop and implement a comprehensive music program that nurtures musical literacy, performance skills, creativity, and appreciation, in full accordance with American educational benchmarks

UAE-Specific Requirements: Willingness and eligibility to obtain ADEK (Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge) Teacher Licensure
This requires meeting all specific academic, professional, and language proficiency standards set by ADEK
Ability to meet all UAE visa requirements, including attested educational certificates and a clear criminal background check
Understanding of and commitment to upholding the educational and cultural values of the UAE
Familiarity with ADEK inspection frameworks and a dedication to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.
