Job Title: Art Teacher (Cycle 1, 2 & 3) Department: Academic Branch: Al Danah Campus Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE International Community Schools (ICS) - Al Danah Campus is seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Art Teacher to join our vibrant academic team
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a high-quality, inspiring Art curriculum across Cycle 1 (Primary), Cycle 2 (Middle School), and Cycle 3 (Secondary, including IGCSE and A-Level) within the rigorous framework of the British Curriculum

Qualifications Academic Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Art, Fine Arts, Art Education, or a closely related field from an accredited university
Teaching Qualification: Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) from the UK, or an equivalent recognized teaching qualification (e.g., teaching license from a British Commonwealth country)
Desirable: A Master's degree in a relevant field

Experience Requirements Teaching Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of full-time experience as an Art Teacher in a school setting
Curriculum-Specific Experience: Proven track record of successfully teaching and delivering the National Curriculum for England (Key Stages 1, 2, and 3) for Art
Examination Experience: Demonstrated experience in teaching and preparing students for Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE Art & Design examinations
Advanced Level Experience: Proven ability to teach and guide students through the Cambridge or Edexcel A-Level Art & Design curriculum
International/UAE Experience: Prior experience in an international school environment or within the UAE is highly desirable

Skills Required Technical & Subject-Specific Skills: Proficiency across a diverse range of art mediums and techniques (e.g., drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, digital art, textiles, ceramics)
Strong understanding of art history, theory, and critical analysis
Ability to effectively integrate technology and digital art tools into the curriculum
Possession of an excellent personal portfolio showcasing practical art skills
Pedagogical & Classroom Management Skills: Ability to differentiate instruction and create engaging lessons tailored to meet the needs of diverse learners across various age groups (Cycle 1, 2, and 3)
Effective classroom management strategies that foster a positive, disciplined, and creative learning environment
Strong assessment and feedback practices aligned with British curriculum standards and examination board requirements
Soft Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and the wider school community
Creativity, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for inspiring students in art education
Adaptability, resilience, and a proactive approach to professional development
Excellent organizational skills for lesson planning, resource management, and coordinating student exhibitions

Knowledge of Specific Curriculum In-depth knowledge and practical experience of planning, delivering, and assessing lessons according to the National Curriculum for England for Art across Key Stages 1, 2, and 3
Comprehensive understanding and proven expertise in teaching the specifications for Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE Art & Design
Thorough familiarity with and experience in teaching the full requirements of Cambridge or Edexcel A-Level Art & Design , including personal investigation, supporting studies, and externally set assignments
Understanding of pedagogical approaches that ensure continuity and progression in art education from early years to post-16 levels within the British system

UAE-Specific Requirements ADEK Compliance: Ability to meet all requirements for ADEK (Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge) teacher licensing and approval, including successful completion of relevant background checks and obtaining necessary permits
Cultural Awareness: A strong understanding and respect for local UAE culture, traditions, and Islamic values, with the ability to integrate these respectfully into the curriculum where appropriate
Regulatory Adherence: Willingness to comply with all UAE educational regulations and school policies
Language Proficiency: Fluency in English (spoken and written) is essential.
