We are looking for an individual committed to fostering a love for Islamic values and teachings within our KG and Cycle 1 students, delivered within the framework of a high-quality international British education
--- JOB DESCRIPTION: ISLAMIC STUDIES TEACHER (KG, CYCLE 1) 1
Qualifications & Certifications: Bachelor's Degree in Islamic Studies, Sharia, Quranic Studies, Arabic Language, or a closely related field from a recognised university
A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed with QTS, or equivalent certification suitable for teaching in the UK) is highly preferred
Must hold or be eligible to obtain professional teacher licensing and approval from the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK)
Certification in First Aid and Child Protection is an advantage

Experience Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of full-time teaching experience in Islamic Studies, specifically within a British curriculum school (National Curriculum for England) environment
Demonstrable experience teaching Islamic Studies to early years (KG) and primary (Cycle 1) age groups
Prior experience working in the UAE or the wider GCC region is highly desirable, with an understanding of local cultural nuances

Skills Required: Subject Matter Expertise: Deep and authentic knowledge of Islamic principles, history, Quran, Hadith, and moral values appropriate for young learners
Pedagogical Skills: Excellent classroom management, lesson planning, and assessment skills tailored for KG and Cycle 1 students
Differentiation: Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse learning needs and cultural backgrounds of students
Communication: Fluent in English (written and spoken) is essential
Strong proficiency in Arabic is a significant advantage and often preferred for Islamic Studies teachers
Technology Integration: Proficient in using educational technology to enhance learning experiences
Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a team, collaborating with colleagues, parents, and school leadership
Soft Skills: Patience, empathy, cultural sensitivity, adaptability, creativity, and a genuine passion for educating young children in a multicultural setting

Curriculum Knowledge: Thorough understanding and proven experience in delivering the Islamic Studies curriculum as mandated by ADEK, specifically adapted for students attending a British curriculum (National Curriculum for England) school
Familiarity with age-appropriate pedagogical approaches and best practices for early years and primary education within a British school context
Ability to integrate Islamic values and teachings effectively into the broader school ethos while adhering to the British curriculum framework for other subjects

UAE-Specific Requirements: Commitment to upholding and promoting the cultural values, heritage, and traditions of the UAE
Understanding and adherence to all ADEK regulations, policies, and guidelines related to teaching, child safeguarding, and school operations in Abu Dhabi
Successful completion of all pre-employment checks, including criminal background checks, medical fitness, and educational credential verification as required by ADEK and UAE authorities.
