Job Title: Teacher Assistant with Bus permit Department: Support Staff Grade/Cycle: Cycle 1, KG Branch: Al Danah International Community Schools (ICS) Al Danah, a leading British curriculum school in Abu Dhabi, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher Assistant to join our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) team for Cycle 1 (KG)
This role provides essential support to the classroom teacher, fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment for our youngest learners
--- Qualifications: Essential: High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Cache Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare, Early Years, or a related educational field
Relevant diploma or certificate in education, early childhood development, or teaching assistance
Fluent command of the English language (spoken and written) is essential
Experience Requirements: Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience working as a Teacher Assistant, Classroom Assistant, or similar support role within an Early Years or Key Stage 1 setting
Demonstrable experience supporting children aged 3-5 years in a classroom environment
Previous experience in a British curriculum school is highly desirable
Skills Required: Technical Skills: Proficiency in basic classroom technology, including interactive whiteboards and tablets
Competency in general office software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel) for preparing resources and basic documentation
Ability to assist with the creation, preparation, and organisation of learning materials and classroom displays
Soft Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with children, parents, and staff members
High degree of patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children
Strong organizational and time management abilities, with a proactive approach to classroom support
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, as well as independently when required
Adaptability, flexibility, and resilience in a dynamic and fast-paced school environment
Commitment to continuous professional development and contributing positively to the school community
Knowledge of the Specific Curriculum: Comprehensive understanding and practical experience with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework of the National Curriculum for England
Familiarity with the seven areas of learning and development within EYFS (Communication and Language; Physical Development; Personal, Social and Emotional Development; Literacy; Mathematics; Understanding the World; Expressive Arts and Design)
Knowledge of age-appropriate pedagogical approaches, assessment methods, and safeguarding practices pertinent to early years within the British educational system
Awareness of the progression from EYFS into Key Stage 1 of the National Curriculum for England
UAE-Specific Requirements: Ability to meet all regulatory requirements set by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) for educational support staff
This includes the successful attestation of qualifications and obtaining necessary security clearances
Commitment to adhering to all ADEK policies, guidelines, and frameworks concerning school operations, curriculum delivery, and child safeguarding
Understanding and respect for the local culture, values, and traditions of the United Arab Emirates
Possession of a valid UAE residency visa or eligibility to obtain one, with full support provided by the school for the visa application process.
