JOB POSITION: HOMEROOM TEACHER CYCLE 1 1
Qualifications: • A Bachelor's Degree in Education B.Ed
or a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant subject area e.g., English, Science, Mathematics combined with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education PGCE
• Specialization or significant experience in Early Childhood Education ECE or Primary Education Key Stage 1/Grades 1-2 is highly desirable
• Valid and recognized teaching license/certification from the country of origin
• All academic degrees and professional qualifications must be officially attested and legalized according to UAE Ministry of Education MOE requirements

Experience Requirements: • A minimum of 2-3 years of full-time, post-qualification teaching experience in a primary school setting specifically ages 5-8 years old within a recognized educational institution
• Demonstrated experience teaching an internationally recognized curriculum British National Curriculum EYFS/Key Stage 1, American Common Core State Standards
• Prior experience in an international school environment is preferred
• Proven ability to differentiate instruction and assessment to cater to diverse student learning styles and needs, including EAL English as an Additional Language learners

Skills Required: • Technical Skills: High proficiency in utilizing educational technology e.g., interactive whiteboards, G Suite for Education/Microsoft Office 365, online learning platforms, student information systems
Strong analytical skills for formative and summative assessment data to inform teaching and learning
Ability to integrate technology seamlessly and effectively into daily classroom practice
• Soft Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English
Outstanding classroom management techniques and positive behavior guidance strategies
Strong interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
A collaborative team player with a proactive and positive approach to professional development
Adaptability, resilience, and cultural sensitivity to thrive in a diverse international school community in the UAE

Knowledge of Curriculum: • In-depth knowledge and practical experience teaching either the British National Curriculum EYFS/Key Stage 1, the American Common Core State Standards Kindergarten/Grade 1-2, or the IB Primary Years Programe PYP preferred
• A comprehensive understanding of age-appropriate pedagogical approaches, including inquiry-based learning, play-based learning, and cross-curricular links, relevant to Cycle 1 students
• Familiarity with various assessment for learning and assessment of learning strategies suitable for primary education

UAE-Specific Requirements: • ADEK Compliance: Ability to meet all professional licensing requirements stipulated by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge ADEK for teachers, including qualifications, experience, and good standing
Willingness to undergo the ADEK teacher licensing process upon appointment
• Ministry of Education MOE Equivalency: All academic and professional qualifications must be officially attested and recognized by the UAE Ministry of Education for equivalency purposes
• Security & Background Checks: Provision of a satisfactory international criminal record check/police clearance certificate from the country of origin
Successful completion of comprehensive background checks and professional reference verification
• Residency & Visa: Ability to successfully obtain a UAE residency visa, sponsored by the school, and medical fitness clearance as per UAE government regulations
• Cultural Awareness: • A deep understanding of and respect for UAE culture, traditions, and local educational regulations.
