Position Requirements: IT Officer Department: Administration Description: International Community Schools, Abu Dhabi is seeking a qualified and experienced IT Officer (school experience mandatory) to oversee and support the school’s IT infrastructure and daily technology operations
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Google Admin Console and Microsoft 365 administration, as well as hands-on experience in Network & Infrastructure Management, including configuration and management of firewalls, switches, VLANs, access points, and AVAYA systems
The role requires solid experience in hardware and software installation, troubleshooting, and end-user support, along with an excellent command of MS Office, particularly advanced Excel skills
Experience with Orison ERP and ASC Timetables (ASC TT) will be considered an added advantage
Candidates must have prior school IT experience and the ability to effectively support academic and administrative technology needs

Qualifications & Certifications: • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field from an accredited institution
• Relevant industry certifications are highly preferred e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified Professional, CCNA, ITIL Foundation
• Evidence of continuous professional development in evolving IT technologies

Experience Requirements: • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in an IT support or technical administration role out of which at least 2 years should be in a school
• Demonstrable experience within an educational setting K-12 school environment is highly advantageous, understanding the unique IT needs of students and educators across various age groups
• Proven track record in managing and maintaining complex network infrastructure, server systems, and a diverse range of end-user devices
• Experience with help desk operations, incident management, asset management, and providing technical training to non-technical users

Skills Required: • Technical Skills: Proficiency in administering Windows Server environments including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and client operating systems Windows 10/11, macOS
Strong knowledge of networking principles TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching and configuration of network hardware routers, switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi access points
Expertise in Microsoft 365 Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive and/or Google Workspace administration and support
Familiarity with Learning Management Systems LMS and Virtual Learning Environments VLEs such as ManageBac, Google Classroom, Moodle, Canvas, or similar educational platforms
Solid understanding of cybersecurity best practices, data backup, disaster recovery, and endpoint security solutions
Hands-on experience with hardware troubleshooting, repair, software deployment, and license management
Knowledge of AV equipment support projectors, interactive whiteboards, sound systems, video conferencing
• Soft Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively translate technical information for diverse audiences staff, students, parents
A customer-centric approach, demonstrating patience, empathy, and a professional demeanor in all interactions
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues efficiently and independently
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a valued member of a team
High degree of adaptability, proactivity, and a commitment to continuous learning in an ever-evolving technological landscape

UAE-Specific & Compliance Requirements: • ADEK Compliance: Deep understanding of and commitment to adhering to Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge ADEK regulations and guidelines concerning IT infrastructure, data security, acceptable use policies, and educational technology standards within schools
• Visa Eligibility: Must meet all UAE Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratisation requirements for obtaining an employment visa
• Good Conduct Certificate: Ability to obtain a Police Clearance Certificate Good Conduct Certificate from both the country of origin and UAE, as required by ADEK and immigration authorities
• Professional References: Provide strong professional references from previous employers, particularly from educational institutions, attesting to IT proficiency and suitability for a school environment
Salary: AED 5000 - AED 6000 with benefits.
